Selecting The Right Hardware
Sourceport Computing specializes in building custom computer systems with an emphasis on data security and full system optimization, with a proven success rate in helping satisfied clients select their best options.
Once the intended use and specific needs of your new system have been established and you have selected an appropriate platform, then we can show you a cost effective approach towards building your new system.
We typically start by discussing motherboard, processor and memory. Next come the required drives and drive types, along with any necessary internal components. Then comes the fun part in picking out a case to your liking with an ample enough power supply. This gives you a custom built system with quality hardware.
Our standard fee for assembling a new system is $40 per machine.
Additional items such as monitor, keyboard & mouse, sound system, printer and network equipment are also discussed whenever a complete system build has been requested so you are tailored for your specific needs.
Additional fees may also apply in situations where a client needs help with peripheral setup.

Regarding The Vista Disaster
The initial concerns came from those who got burned in the Vista disaster, who believed they could wipe out their drives and return to XP, until they were suddenly halted by Vista's backward compatability driver issues.
If they already owned a legal copy of Windows XP, they could modify their Vista proprietary hardware and still validate a copy of Windows XP (similar to building a brand new machine) unless (of course) - it was a laptop.
Consumers were later offered a special "downgrade" disk to return to XP, which also required additional fees.
Vista became hated by many consumers and has now been replaced with the new Windows 7 (which seems a bit better), but many are still wary of taking the plunge after the trust that was lost in the Vista disaster.
So Here Are The Options
Sourceport Computing offers a unique approach to these issues by building its clients new custom systems with the latest version of the FREE Ubuntu operating system as a perfect alternative for most users.
For those who had purchased a brand new machine pre-installed with the Vista operating system on top of Vista proprietary hardware, we offer the option to do custom Ubuntu conversions to rid the machine of Vista.
We can also rebuild an existing XP computer into a brand new machine and retain your existing XP license, provided the required Microsoft product key is attached to your existing machine, or is in your posession.
Our shop does not and will not build a new system with Vista installed, nor do we service Vista.
As for Windows 7 (which is now on the market), we're reserving opinions until it's been out for a while and we see how it does. Opinions aside, we do perform installs and repairs of Windows 7 with this recommendation.
